The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program publishes a quarterly count of employment and wages reported by employers covering more than 95 percent of U.S. jobs available at the county, state, and national levels by detailed industry.
The following interactive dashboard can be used to explore the QCEW data both by geography (QCEW by Area tab) and by industry (QCEW by Industry tab). Filters are available to narrow down data by selecting desired year, quarter, area type, desired area, industry level, and ownership (government or private).
Aggregated data by multiple counties, Metropolitan Staistical Areas (MSA), or Workforce Development Areas (WDA) is available by selecting “Multiple” in the “Single area or multiple areas?” filter in the QCEW by Area tab.
The QCEW by Industry tab allows further filtering of data by industries. The Notes tab provides additional information about the QCEW data and key definitions.
QCEW data by WDA is available starting third quarter 2025. Data by MSA is only available at the most aggregated industry and ownership level starting third quarter 2025.
