About the State

Missouri is comprised of 114 counties and the City of Saint Louis. The Saint Louis and Kansas City regions combine to make up 58% of the employment of the state. Walmart, Mercy Health, Washington University and Boeing are some of the the largest private employers in the state. The University of Missouri is the largest government employer in the state. The average annual wage for all occupations in Missouri is $54,520.
